What the hell am I doing???

If you are looking for the answer to that question, I havn’t got it. In fact, I don’t have many answers to the things I do. Well here is my blog. For many years I have thought about other people writing blogs, and how on earth they manage to fill them each week with new things. I have mainly resisted setting up my own blog, because, well lets face it… I’m boring as hell. If you have managed to read this far, you are doing a lot better than I did! I have been kinda forced into writing this blog for the university course I am doing, so here I am, at 11:45pm at night creating utter nonsense after being at the Uni pub quiz night…

How do you start a blog??? That was a question that was running through my head after the first pint and the section 3, question 2 of the pub quiz came up. To be honest I don’t know how to start a blog. I could do the sensible thing and look at other people’s, but I’m lazy, or as I like to call it… slightly laid back. I could describe a little about myself and introduce myself, and my little corner of cyber space, to the world wide web. Thinking about it that’s probably the sensible option.  So here goes nothing…

(Picture a ring of people in a class each talking about themselves to the class leader, and a quiet guy is asked who are you after trying desperately to become invisible. This is how i feel right about now) Err.. Hi.. My name is Matthew Shield. I am a 19 year old student at Bournemouth University doing a 3 year course on Interactive Media Production. (Here is the point where we scrape the bottom of the barrel for ideas) I like computers, gadgets, making friends, Second Life, creating stuff.. and err… that’s it.

Well if you were expecting something far more extravagant, I’m afraid you are in the wrong place. Try three doors down. Its the red door with the lopsided sign. I guess I have no clue when it comes to saying things about myself when put on the spot, or any other time for that matter, because I have had far too much time to think about this post. So what do you expect to find in this blog? Well all sorts. This blog will have a mix of anything and everything. It will include various happenings going on in my life, in university and possibly in others lives. It will have an array of links and snippets of information and media that caught my attention and made me laugh, as well as anything else that I find interesting and other people don’t.

That is, if i can get off my backside to update this blog.

Ok, so I am so laid back I am horizontal. Well that’s what my parents say anyway. Through the power of technology and possibly boredom as well, I will try to post something every so often. My aim is to post something every couple of days, but don’t be surprised if you find this as the only post. Looking back over what I have just written I slightly surprised myself on how much I have actually written. There are more than three words. If you have read up to here without being bored or found something more interesting to do, I congratulate you, or in fact, I should warn you…

However you look at it, I thank you for taking the time to get this far. You know, I may actually have an answer to the original question. What am I doing? I am writing the first of my new blog for my new course at a turning point in my life. A new me. A determined me. A slightly tipsy and tired me. On that note, I best hit the publish button and hit the bed before the floor hits me…
